Art: Original Works
This is a fund-raiser for the art department. All students create artwork in the fall semester. The child's artwork is sent home with an order form. Items such as magnets, mugs, mouse pad, t-shirts and many others, can be ordered and will arrive in time for Christmas. This is a great gift idea for grandparents!
Volunteers needed for initial orders, paperwork, arrival of products, and distribution. Contact Debra Echtler, Art Specialist.
Library: Scholastic Book Fair
The Book Fair makes inexpensive books available for all students to purchase.
It's held in August/September in conjunction with our Open House and again in April, which is a good time to stock up on summer reading. The exact dates are posted in the newsletter and on posters placed around the school.
Students make out "wish lists" during library classes. Those lists are shared with parents who can help their child to make wise selections that are appropriate reading levels for him/her.
Quotes from students: "I love the book fair! It's so cool getting to look at all those books!"
Visit the book fair with your child. We can use volunteers to set-up and take-down the book fair and to serve as cashiers.
Music
If you are interested in helping the Music Program get on our feet (and dancin’), contact Mrs. Marner to volunteer! Some needs include: shelving hung to store all of our wonderful new instruments, Kindergarten song books copied and bound together, gross scuffed and scratched walls painted, help wiring and connecting our sound system I found in a cabinet, Winter Show stage decorations hung, BC Performers costume help.

Technology: Bobcat Blab
This is our student newspaper. Students in grades 4 and 5 meet in the Technology Lab after school from 3-4:40, for 4 weeks, twice a year in the fall and spring. Students are assigned different jobs as reporter, photographers, editors, or artists.
The newspaper is printed by the Vail Daily at the Gypsum printing plant. Students are invited to watch the printing run.
Parent volunteers are needed to help with editing. Contact Marilyn Earle.
Theater Program
After School: Students in Grades 2 through 5 who have shown commitment, energy, time and talent will have the opportunity to perform in an original production. This involvement may take several forms: on stage as an actor or performer, or backstage as a stage manager or crew member. Potential scripts may include those written by Douglas Love for the Children’s Theater School, many of which have been published by Harper Collins.
Parent volunteers are welcomed in all aspects of production: helping students rehearse, costume and set work, public relations, etc. Contact the school office to volunteer and for rehearsal dates and times.
The Luncheon for the Arts benefits the Theater Arts Program. Volunteers are also needed for this event, contact PTO for more information.
