Accountability Committee
One of our biggest projects has been the Bobcat Book on this website. We hope you find the information useful. Visit the website often for updates!
Purpose: To serve as the legal accountability committee and to serve as a communication link between the school and parents by serving as a sounding board for ideas related to new and ongoing school programs.
Membership: The principal, teacher representatives from grades K/1, 2/3, 4/5 and Specials, and 6 parents.
Meetings: We meet monthly on the second Monday from 3-5 pm, and all meetings are open to the public. Meeting dates and times are posted in every newsletter.
Responsibilities:
- District Advisory Accountability Committee (DAAC) Representative
- School Improvement Plan: We review the test scores and the school’s plan for improving those scores
- School Budget: We review the school’s discretionary budget
- School Safety Issues
Projects:
- PIN (Problems, Actions, Needs) Statements review and action plans. We publish the PIN form in every monthly newsletter to give parents an easy way to communicate their concerns with the school. We review every PIN at monthly meetings. We respond directly to the PIN author. In some cases, we will use an ABC form in the next newsletter to gauge the school community’s interest in the subject and to ask if anyone would like to work on a committee to address the issue.
- Parent Survey and action plan. We survey the parents every December looking for input about our school. As a result of recent surveys, we are working on the following projects:
- Bobcat Book (a reference book for all school programs and events)
- VIPs (Volunteers in Public Schools)
- Coffee with the Principal
- Teacher Training Funds Program Administration PTO provides the funding; the Council approves teacher requests to attend professional workshops that will enhance their classroom skills.
