Philosophy
Brush Creek Elementary School’s mission is to work collaboratively with the home and community to educate all children to become responsible, literate, and productive citizens.
We believe in “making decisions based on what’s best for our children.” We believe that children learn best when they feel good about themselves, when they are making decisions for themselves, when they are responsible, when they are learning and when they live up to good standards of behavior.
We also believe that every child has the right to learn and a teacher has the right to teach without interference from a disruptive child.
At Brush Creek Elementary we want to ensure a safe environment that is conducive to learning and one that helps students learn self-discipline and socially acceptable behavior.
Effective communication and cooperation are at the core of the Brush Creek Elementary plan for developing student responsibility. The principal, staff, and parents work together to guide students in making wise decisions about their behavior at school. Students are involved in decision-making and goal-setting related to specific situations.
Most of all, the BCES school-wide plan maintains and promotes the dignity of each student without diminishing the authority of the staff members within the school. Trust, respect and caring serve as the foundation of this plan.
We care for your children and want to be a partner in supporting their growth as responsible, respectful individuals who strive to achieve their best in all situations.
