Fifth Grade teachers at Brush Creek Elementary feel strongly about creating a smooth transition for their students from elementary to middle school.  Many affective goals in fifth grade surround building an independently responsible student who is ready to handle the increased responsibility, freedom, and choices of middle school. 

 To better help students and parents know what to expect in middle school Brush Creek Elementary works together with the Eagle Valley Middle School to organize orientation meetings and visits.  These activities usually take place in the last month of school and are facilitated by the 5^{th &} 6^th grade teachers, the middle school counselor and principal. At these meetings students and parents are informed of the daily schedules expectations of middle school.
