Fifth graders at Brush Creek Elementary participate in a run-bike-run biathlon challenge as a culminating PE event.  Students run ½ mile, bike 3 miles and run another ½ mile.  The goal for this activity is to finish.  Fifth graders begin training about five weeks before the event.  The course goes through the Eagle Ranch neighborhood near the school.  All underclassmen line the course on campus to cheer sisters, brothers and friends on.  This highly anticipated event is often a real challenge to students who experience a great boost in self-esteem from finishing.  5^th grade parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
